Experiences of Experts with Communication and Information Exchange in Response to Disasters

Introduction: Effective communication and timely information exchange during disasters emergencies can help responsive organizations prepare better react fast effectively in order to mitigate losses casualties. Objectives: This study summarizes the experiences of experts at Iran’s Relief Rescue Organization Emergency with regard how contributed response past disasters. Methods:: The content analysis approach was used this qualitative study. statistical population included operational managers employees from different provinces various managerial field work's supreme, middle, levels as well local, provincial, regional, national, international purposive sampling method then employed collect data through semi-structured interviews 24 participants. Data performed MAXQDA 12. Findings: results analyzing a main theme two categories. first category identified intra-organizational seven subcategories called organizational individuals departments, channels, model, message content, purpose communication, standards instructions, challenges. second inter-organizational six Conclusion: participants believed that there were limited horizontal communications between same level via fixed phones, mobile wireless radios Therefore, disturbance accurate organizations, especially hours disaster lack agreements infrastructure result further vulnerability victims, Red Crescent rescuer, emergency technicians.
